As this is the first entry, I should start out with a brief introduction. LocalType is an online journal for things that interest me, Christopher Harrington. Hopefully, it will interest other people. I promise not to write about my cat, but as I do have an interest in cooking, I may occasionally write about what I had for dinner the night before.
People often say “Write about what you know”. I plan on keeping to this simple idea. Expect to see topics on information architecture, design, photography and industry trends in computing. Conversely, there is no sense in writing about a subject if it is only going to repeat the thoughts of others without bringing anything new to the discussion.
